When I tell people I’m a funeral celebrant often the response is ‘that’s sounds depressing’ but for me, at least, that could not be further from the truth. I’m not denying that death and losing a loved one isn’t sad but love and grief are entertwined. As celebrant its my responsilbilty to search for the Beauty in death. Every story and most lessons in life have an element of challenge and struggle but from these depths of despair is where we find compassion, gratitude, courage and hope. My role is to bring all these elements together in a faithful and considerate way.
Whether you have recently lost a loved one, or indeed are preparing for the death of somebody close I can help ease the process. I will gently guide you through all the elements of the ceremony to ensure the prefect send off.
I happened to meet Julie through a friend, just before the cremation of my father. The words she wrote and spoke, at such short notice were absolutely beautiful. I’m so glad that she was able to help me with such a difficult time, totally taking the pressure off and speaking in such a moving way about Dad. I can’t thank her enough. Just lovely.
